Life Church

Hey, you found us! Welcome to Life Church, we’re a vibrant, family friendly, Christian church serving the Benalla Community. Located in the beautiful town of Benalla, Victoria, Australia.

We gather 10 am for church each Sunday, and we livestream the message on YouTube from 10:40 am. If you’re here in-person, after the service stay for a free barista made coffee in the cafe, or help yourself to self-serve tea or a $2 soft drink.

If you’re connecting on-line then, thank you, we’re glad you can be part of our online Life Church community, and please make contact if we can pray, or connect with you over a cuppa at any stage.

Mid-week we have; small groups, prayer group, ladies’ group, men’s group, youth, pool/billiards social gathering, and playgroup which run most of the year.

Please click through the menus at the top of the page and check out our Facebook and YouTube site (links at bottom of screen) for more content and info about our family church.

What happens at church

What happens at church, and what to expect at a service

When you arrive at Life Church someone will welcome you at the door and answer any questions you may have. You’re welcome to grab a self service tea or coffee before the service. We have new people visiting all the time so please don’t feel awkward or like you’ll stick out. If you are visiting just to ‘check us out’ one time, or looking to become part of a local church, you’re welcome!

Each service typically lasts up to 90 minutes, and includes music from a live band and singing (about Christian truths and God’s character), prayer, and a talk (sermon) that is based on the teachings found in the Bible.

Our worship is contemporary and might surprise you if you’re from a traditional church, or have never been to church before. Some people lift their hands and are quite animated in worship, others have a more conservative style. There is no right way to worship – you are free to express yourself during worship in way you feel comfortable – no one is looking at you, or judging how you choose to worship.

I’m a muso!

We love musos with a heart to worship! If you want to call Life Church home and become part of the music team, we can walk you through the team audition and application process, after you’ve settled in.

What else happens in a service

There will be news and event updates drawing your attention to what is happening in the life of the congregation and the broader community.

Services may also hold a time of communion (reflecting on Christ’s death through sharing bread and grape juice).

Immediately after the service there will be people from our Ministry Team available to pray with you if that is something you would like to do.

At the end of our services we encourage everyone to hang around and connect in the cafe. Often we have free barista coffee and there is always self-serve tea and coffee available.

What should I wear

There is no dress code. You might choose to turn up in a baseball cap, t-shirt and jeans, or you might choose to dress up for church – that’s your choice. Most people wear casual clothes to church.

What’s available for my children

Children are a special part of Life Church and Life Kids, for primary school aged kids, is run during the service (during the school terms).

A creche room is available for parents of babies and toddlers. The creche has a live audio feed of the service and kids toys. If your little one is crying or restless then this is a great way to give them some room to move, cry and for your to still hear the service. There’s a nappy disposal bin in the creche and if you need bottle warming facilites, you can access the church kitchen (just past the cafe servery).
